Here is some info that we have gathered on our trips to Bali.
Landing at Denpasar
Coming into the big arrival hall, there is a separate queue to get the visa on arrival, which you can bypass if you have purchased it online beforehand.
Passport and Visa
Please make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 months beyond your stay in Bali and that you have a return ticket or a ticket leaving Bali within 30 days from the day of arrival.
It is useful to have the visa (eVisa, Visa-on-Arrival) prepared beforehand and printed out, so you can hand it with your passport to the immigration officer.
- Travelers from most countries can get a Visa on Arrival valid for 30 days (VoA), please check here:
https://bali.com/bali/bali-visa-indonesia-entry-regulations/
Click on APPLY here within 90 days of traveling: https://molina.imigrasi.go.id
- You need a picture of yourself (passport picture size),
- and a picture of your passport page with your data (picture, name, valid until date, etc),
.. for upload during the process.
After you have registered with your passport data, you need to log-in and apply for the visa and pay.
You have to indicate where you stay in Bali; you can copy the address of Gaia Oasis here :
https://www.gaia-oasis.com/de/reservierungen/kontakt/
.. which is :
- Gaia-Oasis Retreat-Resort,
- Jalan Raya Singaraja-Amlapura, Dusun Tegal Sumaga,
- Tejakula, Singaraja 81173 Bali
To fill out the immigration office at the end :
- Province is : Bali
- Regency : Buleleng
- District and Town : Tejakula

Customs Declaration
The customs declaration is now only digital, and it’s easier to get that before you travel.
You get a QR code that is scanned by the customs officer.
It is possible to do it upon arrival on your cell phone, or on one of the computers that are available in the arrival hall if you prefer that.
However, it is easier to do it from home and print it out (or take a picture of the QR code on your mobile phone), so you can show it and the customs officer just scans it.
Go here for the customs declaration : https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/
Note : you can do the customs declaration up to 5 days before your arrival, not earlier.
Indonesia no longer requires covid vaccination.
And no other vaccinations are required to enter Bali.

Indonesian Rupies (IDR), Cash Money
To get local cash, Indonesian Rupies (IDR), there are several possibilities.
There are many ATMs, where you can get cash using a credit card .. which is not the cheapest probably .. the EC-card (Europe) is accepted in a number of places.
There is also ATMs in Tejakula, the small town where Gaia Oasis is, which accept EC-cards.
Gaia Oasis cannot change money anymore since a few years, because of a new law. However, they are ready to help changing money, if you need.
Wi-Fi, Internet
There is Wi-Fi available at Gaia-Oasis at the reception and in the restaurant if need to stay in touch or check things online.
We still encourage you to use the time of your stay at Gaia Oasis and the seminar for a “digital detox”, for yourself as much as possible :-).
You may want to bring :
- a water bottle, a bug/mosquito lotion, sun screen
- perhaps an alarm clock and a small flash light
- for the beach and swimming in the ocean: water shoes, mask & snorkel (the beach has lots of stones, so shoes are needed to enter the water)
- some cash; Euros or US dollars.
- Also we recommend wearing light clothes, there is no air-conditioning in the seminar room. It is open air with fans.
You can have your laundry done at Gaia Oasis.
