In the Learning Love Work, we give a lot of importance to developing the quality of inner space – the ability to find an inner state of groundedness, silence and spaciousness in order to be able to be with uncomfortable feelings and learn from whatever comes to us in life with understanding, acceptance, and grace.
When we don’t have Inner Space, we react automatically when we get triggered and in doing so undermine our dignity and self-respect. This keeps reinforcing our shame, fears, and lack of self-esteem.
In these seven days, we will be dividing the time between teaching, guided meditations, sharing, and silent meditation. We are going to present our way of teaching silent meditation which includes developing emotional awareness, openness, and loving acceptance.
Because we so easily get distracted in our day-to-day life, by other people and activities, we will be spending 4 ½ days of the retreat in silence, as a way of supporting the inner connectedness. Part of the process is a digital detox to explore what happens when we are not continuously in contact with people online.
We will also be teaching how to integrate two important aspects of our lives – our solitary world and our relational world.
Often, mindfulness and meditative practices do not include awareness of our emotional reality or provide tools for dealing with intimate relating. For that deeper understanding about our wounds, how they influence our life, and how to deal with them, are needed.
In this seminar, we will be teaching how to use meditation and inner silence to face the challenges of daily life and intimate relating – how not to lose ourselves when we come close to someone, how to be authentic, how to give space for both aloneness and togetherness, and how to recognize, feel, accept, and share the insecurities and fears that arise in our relating and regular daily life.
As we progress through these seven days, we will be paying close attention to our behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and body sensations, and learn to understand our inner world better – with a lot of love and acceptance. We will also be developing a palatable sense of inner connectedness, fullness, and spaciousness that is essential to our being and is discovered through love and meditation.
We will start the retreat with an evening and a day of emotional work, sharing, and teaching, followed by four and a half days of silence, teaching our own understanding of meditation, and guided meditations during the days of silence, and then ending with another full day of exploration, teaching, and sharing.
